In 2004 Stroom commissioned a group of artists, designers and architects to design bikehouses to house the bike parking attendant to be placed throughout the city of The Hague. BikeHouse was composed of two squares placed on top of each other, one made of green glass, the other of steel. One rotated 20 degrees and in so doing created three exterior fragments which provided two gardens for the bikehouse - attendant and one ledge for the paying customer. Above the ledge was a window for the exchange of money which was replicated in the interior space of the house. The act of money exchange of the paying customer outside mimicked the washing of hands by the bike-house attendant inside.
